Lesson 1: Getting Started _ Listen & Read
*OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know some ways of protecting the environment, identify “Present perfect” and get used to “conditional sentences type 1”
* LANGUAGE CONTENTS:
- Grammar: conditional sentences type 1
- Vocabulary: _ rock , sand , shore = beach , pollution, check, provide , achieve ,
spoil ,conservationist

Matching ( getting started )
Picture a) _ air pollution
_ spraying pesticides
_ garbage dump
_ water pollution
_ deforestation
_ dynamite fishing
II. Listen and read:
* Pre-teach vocabulary;
_ rock (n) : đá, hòn đá ( realia )
_ sand (n) : cát (“ )
_ shore (n) : bờ biển = beach (n) (picture)
_ pollution (n) : sự ô nhiễm ( explanation )

1.Set the scene : Mrv Brown is talking to some volunteer conversationists. Guess the place where they are going to work.
* Prediction
Match the names in column A with the tasks in column B.
* Check
1. Group 1 _ f) walk along the shore
2. Group 2 _ c) check the sand
3. Group 3 _ b) check among the rocks.
4. Mr. Jones _ a) collect all the bags & take them to.
5. Mrs Smith _ c) provide a picnic lunch for everyone.
6. Mr. Brown _ d) give out the bags.
2.Questions & answers
1. The speaker is Mr. Brown
2. The listeners are members of the volunteer conservationist.
3. They are on the beach
4. They are going to clean the beach.
5. If they work hard today, they will make the beach clean and beautiful again soon.
3.Discussion:
1) Have you ever done anything to protect the environment?
2) give out some ways of protecting the environment?
Example: cleaning the school yards, cleaning the streets, the parks, planting trees/ flowers, collecting trash…
4.Other activities: Conditional sentences type 1:
Example:
If you can’t find your place, I will help you get there with this map.
If we work hard, we’ll make this beach a clean and beautiful place again.

III. Homework:
Exercise 1,2 in textbook
-Runs through these word phrases and pictures divides 2 teams
